Happy New Year!
I'm probably late in wishing you all this...but its ok I guess ^^
A very Happy New Year to everyone...
Let the year be good to you guys...ne ^^
Since finals are finally all done, I am back to posting the songs. I couldn't post one last week due to my finals, so I'll be bringing you two songs today. Both of them are from the movie " लागा चुनरी में दाग " (Laaga Chunari Mein Daag).
The first song I bring you today is called " कच्चि कालियान " (Kachchi Kaliyan). Please don't ask me what it means, coz I don't know!!! If you get a chance to see the video for it, you should, the dresses, at least for the ladies, are quite elaborate!!
The second song also comes from the same movie. It's called " हम तो ऐसे है " (Hum to aise hai) meaning "We are just like this". Its an interesting song to listen to.
Enjoy ^_^
I was home last week and when I come home, I get really lazy and that is the reason you guys didn't see a song from me last week. So, I bring you a song early this week to compensate for my laziness!!!
Today's song comes from a recent hindi release called " लागा चुनरी में दाग " (Laaga Chunari Mein Daag) meaning 'Veil Makred by a Stain' (thats the closest meaning I can think of. Hey, Hindi isn't my first language!!! lol) The story for the movie is pretty intense. It revolves around a family which has fallen on hard times. There is a mother, father and two daughters in the household. Their uncle is harrassing them for a share in the familial house that has been passed down for generations. When things get tougher for the family, the older daughter goes to Mumbai (Bombay) to find work. But she finds out that there aren't any prospects open for a girl who just barely passed 10th grade! Due to circumstances she ends up being a high-class call-girl. So, the movie revolves around this girl and how she supports her family by continuing to be a call-girl. It really is a different type of movie than the usual love stories that bollywood sees. If you're into watching bollywood movies and haven't see this one yet, its a good one to watch. Definitely worth the ticket price and the time you spend on it.
The song is called " चुनरी में दाग "(Chunari Mein Daag) meaning 'Stained Veil'.
Enjoy ^_^
Today's songs come from the 2007 hindi release called " मुंबई सॉल्सा " (Mumbai Salsa). It was an interesting movie. Definitely controversial coz they broke the myths of all Indian women being virgins before marriage or how they're supposed to not drink out in clubs and they even delved into the concept of living together before marriage, gay/lesbian scene and teenage pregnancies! Overall, it was realistic and I liked that about the movie. Of course the ending was a bit too romantic and I can't imagine that happening in the real life. Other than that, everything else can definitely happen to just about anybody, so it was believeable!
So, today I present you the song titled after the movie " मुंबई सॉल्सा ". It has two versions to it. In the first version we've got both a male singer and a female singer.
The second version of the song has only a female singer. And its called ' Mumbai Salsa II'.
Lyrics for both the songs is pretty much the same.
(Let'S Do The Mumbai Salsa

Ah...I skipped this last week! But I was too busy... we had an exam and two projects due and everything was so messed up... and then I had to go home!
So, I bring you two songs this week instead! Both the songs come from the movie "సై"(Sye - pronounced Sai). This first song is titled 'నల్లా నల్లాని' (Nalla Nallani) meaning 'Blackest of all blacks' ... Well thats the closest meaning I can think of for it. In this song, the guy is asking the girl what type of guy she wants for a groom and then the girl picks up asking the guy what king of bride she wants... its a pretty folk-ish song... I like the music in it.
The second song for the day comes from the same movie. I might have actually posted this one before. Its titled ' ఛంత్ట్టైనా బుజైనా' [the spelling is a bit off...coz my writing software doesn't seem to know how to write the proper 'ti'] (Chantaina Bujjaina)... meaning 'Whether it is Chanti or Bujji' ... Chanti and Bujji are nicknames for people... Chanti is usually used for boys, but bujji can be used for girls or boys... but I think in this song we're supposed to assume that bujji is used for boys.
If the songs are repeats... you'll have to bear with me for a while. But for now...
Enjoy ^_^
Today's song comes from the new hindi movie " भूल भुलैया " (Bhool Bhulaiyaa). The title of the song is the same as the movie. Its supposed to be a scary movie...but I found it funny...in parts that I'm not really supposed to be laughing at. Other than that, the movie itself was good...the hindi director stuck to the original plot...the original story comes from a malayalam movie...which was then remade into telugu and tamil called " చంద్రముఖి " (Chandramukhi). Do check out the movie if you're interested. Now, without further delay, I present you the song.
Enjoy ^_^
This week's song comes from the movie " दिल तो पागल है " (Dil to Pagal Hai) again! It is called ' प्यार कर ' (Pyar Kar). This song puts a smile on my face everytime I listen to it. Its a sweet song...I'll put up the lyrics and translation, later when I have more time. For the time being...you can listen to the song.
Enjoy ^_^
